Q4 2023 Recap: Top 5 iOS Social Networking Apps in France

As the year draws to a close, Sensor Tower has compiled a snapshot of the top five social networking applications on the iOS platform in France for the fourth quarter of 2023. These insights offer a clear view of user engagement and app popularity within the region.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence throughout the quarter, with downloads peaking at 99K in the last week of December. The app's weekly active users showed slight fluctuations but ended with a slight decrease to 16.9M active users.

On the other hand, Telegram Messenger saw its revenue ranging from around $9K to $15K per week, indicating a steady monetization strategy. Downloads hit a high of 83K in late October but tapered off to around 43K by the year's end. Active users peaked at 2.4M in late October, eventually settling at approximately 2.1M.

Facebook showed an interesting trend with its revenue spiking to $17K in early November. Downloads saw a significant jump to 63K during the festive week of December, while active users experienced a slight increase, finishing at 10.1M.

Threads, an Instagram app, a new entry in the market, had an impressive debut with downloads soaring from 84K to 246K in just two weeks. Active users mirrored this growth, jumping from 82K to an impressive 420K.

Lastly, Messenger closed the quarter without notable revenue figures but showed consistent download numbers, reaching a high of 49K in the last week of December. The app's weekly active users saw a peak in early December at 7.3M and ended the quarter with nearly 6.8M users.
